During the program they introduced viewers to James and Bethany Jefferson-Loveday’s ‘miracle baby’.

The proud parents of baby Heidi joined the hosts on the red sofa as they shared their story.

James spoke about how he was shockingly diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma before Heidi was conceived.

And Bethany was then diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma 21 weeks into her pregnancy.

The couple revealed they’re now thankfully both in remission and Heidi was born healthy and happy.

However, while the topic of the conversation was serious, things took a funny turn when Naga spotted that Heidi had let out a fart in the studio.

“Did she just parp? She just parped! Does she usually wake up like that?” asked the presenter.

The studio erupted into giggles as Charlie, 62, confirmed he too heard the tot letting out gas.

He added: “It’s a welcome to BBC Breakfast. That’s what that was!”

Heidi continued to provide the hosts and her amused parents with laughter as she farted once more.

Naga then jokingly told her: “I’m telling a very emotional story here, please, Heidi – let me get on with it!”

Viewers at home who were gripped by James and Bethany’s story also found baby Heidi’s ‘parps’ to be hilarious.

“A baby has just farted on BBC Breakfast,” one viewer posted.

Another said: “So lovely to turn on the news and listen to a good news story from cancer survivors James and Bethany and watch the most gorgeous smiley miracle baby Heidi steal the show. Such a heartwarming few minutes.”

“@BBCBreakfast just watching such a wonderful couple. They have the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen!!!!!!!! Pass on my good wishes,” said a third.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
