A trailer for a new Netflix series presented by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has been released, with climate change activist Greta Thunberg and New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern among the figures speaking about “inspiring life stories”.
Live To Lead is a documentary show which Prince Harry says has been inspired by the late Nelson Mandela, and the promotional clip includes footage of the former South African president and anti-apartheid campaigner.
As well as Ms Thunberg and Ms Ardern, other figures covered include American social justice activist Bryan Stevenson, the late US supreme court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and South African lawyer Albie Sachs.
The captain of the South African rugby union team Siya Kolisithe first black player to ever hold the position, is also featured along with US social-political activist Gloria Steinem.
A tweet by the streamer contained the one minute 39 second clip along with the words: “Their voices give us hope. Their actions shape our world. Their leadership inspires our future.”
The trailer’s release comes just a few days after the second batch of three episodes for the royal couple’s series Harry & Meghan aired on the streaming service.
The programmes new allegations against the Royal Family, as the Sussexes also hit out at their treatment at the hands of the press.
The second volume of Harry & Megan went much further than the first, with Harry accusing William of screaming and shouting at him at a summit meeting over “Megxit”, and saying he believes he and his wife lost their baby in 2020 because of coverage in the mail.
Other revelations included Harry saying a joint statement was put out without his permission in his and his brother’s name, denying a story that William had “bullied” him out of the Royal Family.
He also accused William’s office of trading stories – something they “promised” they would never do when they were younger.
Buckingham Palace has not responded to the latest allegations nor the claims a week earlier.
Watching felt exhausting, but Harry and Meghan’s claims haven’t caused the earthquake some expected
Harry and Meghan defend their decision to make a Netflix series
In the short trailer for Live To Lead, Harry says: “This was inspired by Nelson Mandela who once said what counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived…”
Meghan completes the quotation, saying: “…it is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
Harry later also says in the clip: “It is about people who have made brave choices.”
Meghan adds: “To fight for change, and become leaders,” before Harry goes on to say: “And giving inspiration to the rest of us. To live, to lead.”
